One-To-One Mentoring
One-to-One Mentoring
One-to-one mentoring is a key aspect of the interlinked, continuous and holistic series of projects that 4-22 Foundation provides for young people at the greatest risk of disadvantage in the boroughs of Haringey and Enfield.

Our mentoring is centred around providing pastoral care and support to young people aged from 4 to 22. The supportive, healthy relationships formed between mentors and mentees are both immediate and long-term and contribute to a host of benefits for young people. These include increased confidence, increased resilience, increased well-being, and raised aspirations. The mentor becomes a positive role model for the young person, at once both a confidante and a source of inspiration.
We also provide career development mentoring to young people, which is a more careers-focused type of mentoring. This typically provides introductions to industries as well as opportunities such as shadowing, work placements and internships.

We work with members of the local community and industry professionals to mentor young people. Our projects utilize evidence from much recent research stating that young people from disadvantaged boroughs and backgrounds face many barriers in both aspiring to and pursuing careers in professions such as coding, programming, gaming, banking, finance, accountancy, law and insurance.

By exposing children and young people to these environments and establishing personal relationships for them with practitioners in these professions we raise confidence and aspirations. By regular exposure to positive role models, children and young people will be inspired to take advantage of the positive opportunities on offer and be motivated to achieve their full potential.
